Pengaruh Modal Inti Terhadap Profitabilitas Dan Kinerja Perbankan (Studi Pada Bank Syariah Di Indonesia)

Background - The growth potential of sharia banking business in Indonesia is increasing, so it is important to evaluate the performance of sharia banking. Aim - This study aims to examine the effect of core capital on the profitability  and  performance  of  Islamic  Commercial  Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research is expected to provide input in financial knowledge, especially in the field of evaluating bank financial performance and the factors that influence it. Design/ Methodology/ Approach - The research object is 12 Islamic banks in Indonesia. The data is taken from the financial statements of each Islamic bank from 2015 to 2018. Hypothesis testing is carried out using a structural equation model with the WARP PLS program. Results and Discussion – The results show that core capital has a significant effect on profitability, as well as profitability has a significant effect on core capital. The results also show that core capital has no effect on performance and performance has no significant effect on core capital. The results showed that profitability had no effect on performance. Conclusion - The results of this study conclude that of the five hypotheses proposed only two are accepted, namely core capital has a significant effect on profitability, and vice versa profitability also has a significant effect on core capital. This study produces evidence that core capital has no significant effect on the performance of Islamic banks. Likewise, it turns out that profitability also does not significantly affect the performance of Islamic banks, but on the contrary, the performance of Islamic banks has no significant effect on profitability. Research implications - for the Islamic banking business, this research can provide input on how to measure the performance of Islamic banks through the profitability and core capital of Islamic banks. Does green technology espousal really matter?

There is immense pressure across the world to adopt green technology and green practices in order to reduce the pollution level of urban and cosmopolitan areas.While, the adoption of green technology depends on several social and relative factors, there was so reluctance on the part of many to adopt it.Contextualizing the area of concern to the Tuk-Tuk, drivers in the city of Bangkok, Thailand, a study was conducted to assess the factors influencing adoption of green technology.The study followed qualitative research initially to explore unique factors and then confirmed those factors through qualitative research.Factor analysis was conducted to analyze the reliability of the instruments and data collected from the “tuk tuk” drivers.Almost 176 auto drivers were interviewed (informally) with a structured schedule and data collected.To analyze this data, study followed statistical tools like correlation and regression.The results clearly indicate that socioeconomic factors which are moderated by the green technology factors that influence the “TukTuk” drivers intention ‘not to go green’, even though they have the keen interest towards environmental concerns

This study aims to analyze the interest of tourists to travel during the covid-19 pandemic. The existence of this epidemic certainly changes the behavior of tourists, many things are their consideration before deciding to travel. This study focused on domestic tourists in East Java with the aim of analyzing the attitudes and intentions of tourists to travel (travel intentions) which were influenced by referent groups. The Influence of Social Support on Entrepreneurial Inclination among Business Students in Indonesia

The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of social support on student’s inclination toward entrepreneurship. It also aims to test whether gender can moderate the relationship between SS and entrepreneurial intention among business students in Indonesia. Quantitative analysis was conducted using SPSS version 22. This study conveniently distributed 1,230 self-administrated questionnaires to the business students at public and private universities in Indonesia. This data collection process yielded back with 381 usable responses that were used in the statistical analysis for assessing the relationship between SS and EI as well asthe difference between male and female students in terms of entrepreneurial intention.This study reveals that, there is a positive relationship between social support system and student’s inclination toward entrepreneurship and there is a difference between male and female students in terms of entrepreneurial intention

Capital structure and investment decision: What does emerging consumer goods industry tell us?

This study explores the interdependence of capital structure and investment decisions by documenting the relationship between corporate leverage and investment choices. By using the data of consumer goods companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange for three years (2008-2010) as the sample, the obtained data was analyzed by applying multivariate regression analysis and t-test.The study found that the significant likelihood of a firm elevating-leverage to increase the company value, and investors saw this as the company was in a high-growth level. The result also revealed that investment decision had influenced positively on the company value, which meant the investors to assume the management had performed well in searching and investing the obtained capital from debt. It indicated that the market still viewed consumer goods industry as one of the prospective industries in Indonesia due to the fact of the big number of people lives in Indonesia providing a captive market, which are the industry characteristics and the influencing market conditions

Impact of Participative Decision Making and Demographic Characteristics on Job Performance of University Academic Staff: Evidence from Universiti Utara Malaysia

Globalizations and rapid advancement of information and technology have created high uncertainty in educational environment. In response to these changes, higher education institutions continuously set higher goals and objectives to gain more competitive advantages. As a result, academic staffs as an important contributor in the university that is facing an increasing demand for higher job performance. Therefore, it is necessary for university management to implement a practice that can increase academic job performance and keep them motivated. Furthermore, university management should be able to recognize the diversity in their work environment. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of participative decision making and demographic characteristics toward job performance of academic staff. In this regard, 100 academic staff members of Universiti Utara Malaysia were treated as sample of the research. Furthermore, by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and regression analysis as statistical tools, the research found that participative decision making; along with teaching experience and academic rank of academic staff have significant and positive impact on job performance of academic staff of university Utara Malaysia. Surabaya Zoo: a social enterprise on the cross road

Subject area – This case extends existing social enterprise theory about how an organization balances its mixed goals: financial, social and conservation. Both growing demand and management transition bought about the challenging issue of sustainability. Study level/applicability – The authors have applied the case for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Case overview – The central protagonist is Mr Samson, a local authority who has to make a decision on whether he should approve or reject the budget with aims to take over the Surabaya Zoo. This is about debate whether conservation social-enterprise should involve human intervention or follow the natural path. Expected learning outcomes – This case introduces some concepts and implementations about social enterprise and public policy. For the undergraduate program, the case is designed to introduce the concept of social enterprise and public policy. For the postgraduate program, the students are encouraged to enhance their analysis through conducting feasibility studies including financial sustainability and ethical analysis
